Seanergy, the major event for the Offshore Renewables sector in France, took place this year at Paris Porte de Versailles, on 17 and 18 June. More than 3,000 visitors wandered the aisles and attended the conferences and other highlights organised in the Agora or on the stands, notably that of Brittany. Brittany at Seanergy 2025 was a collective pavilion dedicated to showcasing Breton players, the region’s infrastructure and its potential in offshore wind energy, as well as in tidal and wave energy. Here’s a look back at this year’s event and its rich programme of highlights.
A Pavilion dedicated to Brittany’s offshore wind and marine energy strengths
81m² dedicated to showcasing Breton players, the region’s Offshore Renewables infrastructure and its potential in offshore wind, tidal and wave energy: that’s how Brittany’s Offshore Renewables industry presented itself at Seanergy this year. 11 organisations came together under the banner of Bretagne Ocean Power to showcase the vitality of the industry: 10 companies and the Bretagne Pôle Naval cluster made up the Pavilion. Find out more about these players in this article. Qualified contacts, networking and time saved in exchanges with their partners, visibility on the show and on social networks, and streamlined logistics: these are the conclusions drawn by these companies. A positive outcome, reinforced by the collective dynamic.
In addition to showcasing the players present, the stand also demonstrated the commitment of an entire region to Offshore Renewables: dedicated ports, a strategic position at the heart of the Celtic Sea markets and active partnerships throughout Europe.
Highlights on the Bretagne Ocean Power stand
But above all, it was a programme of events and meetings with prime contractors that proved highly beneficial for the Breton players.
Pennavel: the future industrial stages of the project
Starting with a presentation of the Pennavel project’s industrial planning by Quentin Guyet, in charge of relations with the supply chain. This was an opportunity for Breton companies to meet the project team contact in a privileged way, and to anticipate the next stages in order to position themselves in the best possible way.
Update on the study of the wave energy potential of Brittany’s ports
Brittany has a number of high-potential ports and has been supporting the development of wave technology for several years. To step up its development, the Brittany Region commissioned a study of the wave-power potential of Brittany’s ports from Egis and the Breton company DynamOcean, which was able to present the state of play.
Inyanga: tidal turbine projects in Brittany and Wales
Based in the UK, Canada and France, Inyanga Marine Energy Group presented its offshore marine energy services and the progress of the HydroWing project, which will provide a commercial 20 MW tidal turbine solution currently being tested at the Morlais test site in Wales and due to be commissioned in 2028. Inyanga also gave an update on its takeover of the D10 tidal turbine in mid-2024, which has been supplying power to the island of Ouessant since early 2022. Finally, Inyanga announced its participation in the Interreg SHINES project.
Presentation of Horizon Europe Energy/Climate projects in the presence of Johan Caux, BPI National Contact Point
The newly-appointed National Contact Point at BPI France, Johan Caux, presented the Horizon Europe 2025/2026 calls for projects dedicated to MRE and BPI’s role in supporting companies in these projects. Cervval and Hytech Imaging, two Breton companies supported by Bretagne Développement Innovation, have already positioned themselves and were able to present their projects. The call has now gone out for others to join them.
Brittany’s ambitions for offshore wind and marine renewable energies
Daniel Cueff, Vice-Chairman of the Brittany Regional Council with responsibility for the sea and coastline, shared Brittany’s ambitions for offshore renewable energy. In order to reduce its energy dependency and combat global warming, the Brittany Region is pursuing a proactive policy to promote the development of offshore wind and marine energy across all technologies. Seanergy 2025 was an opportunity for Daniel Cueff to take stock of all the projects and actions underway. His presence at the Paris event also gave him the opportunity to meet some of his counterparts and talk with Breton companies.
Brittany’s role in the France Offshore Renewables intercluster
Bretagne Ocean Power has also continued its work to position the region’s supply chain in current and future calls for tender in France. Alongside the 5 other French clusters, they form the France Offshore Renewables cluster, representing more than 500 companies. And it was as part of France Offshore Renewables’ activities that no fewer than 7 commitments were signed at Seanergy by candidates for tender #9 to use local content for their projects. So many opportunities for Breton companies to be sure of being part of these future adventures!
